(SEPT 21) Earlier this week
Brazilian TV Network featured a boxing story, that had part of the feature with
Alex "The Bronx Bomber" Ramos. The video is in Spanish, which Ramos is fluent in
that language. The Brazilian network, that is based in Mexico, Guadalajara, sent
a TV crew to California to do the interview in a local gym. The network is the
second free-to-air TV Network in Brazil. At this time, they reach approximately
47 million homes with 170 million potential TV viewers in our country. The
International RECORD TV Network can be reached in 145 countries.

Contamination of athletic mouthguards

mouthpieces are critical pieces of equipment in contact sports like football,
hockey, and boxing. The American Dental Association recommends them for all
contact sports. But despite the fact that mouthguards are important protective
equipment in these sports, athletes often pay little attention to their care and
sanitation. A new study published in the May-June 2011 edition of Sports Health
sheds light on the microorganisms that can contaminate protective mouthguards.

Oscar De La Hoya Plans Boxing Clinics for Troops
(FEB 24) In the local media they reported that Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy
Promotions was planning a secret mission at unknown locations to have boxing
clinics for stable of boxers. It was reported that Adrien Broner, Danny
Jacobs and Seth Mitchell would be with De La Hoya on this trip.
A spokesman for the (USO) - the group who organized this mission, said
"It's a mission to boost troop morale. The group will participate in boxing
